2012 Latin Grammy Nominations

Who is ready for some Latin Grammy noticias!? Earlier this week, nominations for the XIII Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards were announced at a press conference at the Belasco Theater in downtown LA. Some of our favorite arists like Jesse & Joy, Juan Luis Guerra, Juanes and Ricardo Arjona scored big in the noms and we couldn’t be more excited! Maybe it’s the fact that they happen in Vegas vs Miami or the Fall vs. the Summer like most other awards show…but out of all the premios, there is just something about the Latin Grammys that gets me emocionada!

So…while there are like 50 categories with 20 artist nominated in each (ok..maybe that’s an exaggeration), we have the highlights aqui to help you keep it all straight: Juan Luis Guerra tops the nominations with six; Jesse & Joy garnered five nods; Ricardo Arjona, Edgar Barrera, Juanes, Carla Morrison, Arturo Sandoval, Ivete Sangalo, and 2012 Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year Caetano Veloso are each up for four awards…just to name a few.

Looking at some of the biggest categories at the Latin Grammys…there are some tough competition:

Album Of The Year Nominations: Ricardo Arjona; Bebe; Chico Buarque; ChocQuibTown; Jesse & Joy; Juanes; Carla Morrison; Reik; Arturo Sandoval; and Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil & Ivete Sangalo.

Song Of The Year Nominations: “Fuiste Tú” by Ricardo Arjona con Gaby Moreno; “Calentura” by ChocQuibTown Featuring Tego Calderón & Zully Murillo; “Que Te Vaya Mal” by Kany García; “En El Cielo No Hay Hospital” by Juan Luis Guerra; “¡Corre!” by Jesse & Joy; “Azul Sabina” by Juanes Featuring Joaquín Sabina; “Hasta Que Te Conocí” by Maná; “Atrás Da Porta” by Ivete Sangalo; “No Me Compares” by Alejandro Sanz; and “Bésame Mucho” by Zoé.

Best New Artist Nominations: Gaby Amarantos; Deborah De Corral; Elain; Ulises Hadjis; Los Mesoneros; Juan Magán; Rosario Ortega; Piso 21; 3BallMTY; and Ana Victoria.

So…who do you think we take home the most premios? You will just have to wait and find out until Latin GRAMMY awards which will be held at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas and will be broadcast live on the Univision Network on Thursday, Nov. 15 at 8 p.m. EST.
