American Idol Season 11 Features Latino Contestants In Last Round of Finalists.
I think it might be time that American Idol takes a break from churning out Country music stars (they gave us two of them last season!) and tries out another brand of contestant for a change. With two Hispanic singers in the Top 13 after last week’s episode, maybe we could try out having a Latino artist as our Idol winner for 2012!
In last week’s Thursday night episode America got to vote for it’s idol for the first time this season. The final top 10 were chosen by viewers’ votes which included California native Jessica Sanchez. Then the 3 judges (Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler) made their “wild card” choices and Lopez picked Floridian Jeremy Rosado (check out the video below and just look at the face she’s making while he sings!).
Both Jessica and Jeremy are clearly very talented people, and I’m a little surprised that it took a “wild car” to keep Rosado in, but I’ve got to agree with Randy about Sanchez…that girl can sing. She is so tiny that its downright shocking when she belts out some of those notes! Watch out the video below and you’ll see what I mean.
This week, Idol pays timely tribute to two musical greats Stevie Wonder and Whitney Houston on their Wednesday, March 7th episode. Then you can tune in Thursday, March 8th to if Sanchez and Rosado make the cut!
