Festival Cubano Celebrates Culture In Chicago!
Miami might be considered the mecca of la cultura cubana in the U.S., but that doesn’t keep other major ciudades from showcasing all there is to love about it too! Case in point: The Festival Cubano in Chicago. This particular fiesta, now in its 3rd year, will take the windy city by storm by celebrating (as you can tell from the name) all aspects of Cuban culture.
Taking place on August 4th y 5th from 10am until 10pm both days at Riis Park (on Fullerton Ave and Narragansett), festival organizers have lined up an impressive list of activities for both adults and kids all intended to highlight the richness of the Cuban culture.
“Our goal is not just to host a music festival. We want to give people the opportunity to feel, savor and be a part of Cuban culture for a weekend. We want people to leave the park feeling like they had the experience of a lifetime.”- Sandra Castro, co- founder of Festival Cubano
The two-day festival will be centered around food (from Cuba & Latin America), dancing and music and will also include arts & crafts booths, carnival games and even a Domino Tournament!
