George Lopez Lands Role of Host and Matchmaker On New Dating Show for Fox!
First Eva Longoria, now George Lopez! These dating shows are just coming out of the woodwork! Lopez has been chosen to host Fox‘s new dating show, “Take Me Out” that will premiere this summer on June 7th.
We can thank the creators of American Idol for bringing this series to our TVs. It will feature 30 lucky ladies who will get the chance to interview some male suitors. Multiple rounds will be involved, and at the end the guy who has gotten the most interest from these women will get to choose the two that caught his eye. He will then ask these two ladies a super dramatic “make or break” question. The one who answers this question with the most skill and ease will be rewarded for her under-pressure-interview capabilities and be whisked away on a romantic getaway. The other losers, uh…contestants will get to come back and try again the next episode.
Lopez figures into this as more than just a host, he’ll also be filling in as kind of a match maker of sorts. Apparently, (according to this EW Article) George thinks there is a lot of potential in this format.
“I am thrilled to be hosting such an entertaining new series. Anything can happen on a show like Take Me Out, and I’m looking forward to the excitement.” -George Lopez
So, I don’t know if there is that much to be excited about, but there is the off-chance that if I don’t have anything to do one night, I could get a laugh out of the ridiculousness that is this show’s concept. (In case you didn’t notice, I am not the biggest fan of dating shows.) What about you? Will you watch?
