Judges Save Jessica Sanchez From Being Eliminated on American Idol!
It was a seriously close call last week for Jessica Sanchez on American Idol, but thanks to the judges, she was saved from being knocked out of the running! So, going into this week, there remains seven final contestants and I can’t help but wonder if America is going to heed the wishes of the panel of judges and hold on to Sanchez again or try to send her home.
Along with Jessica’s save though came a little bit of controversy. Steven Tyler let slip before it was revealed who was in the bottom for the week that the judges had decided to use their “save”, which is strange for a live show. I am not going to pretend to be surprised, but apparently many viewers are a little miffed. So, I’m wondering if this is going to hurt the show…probably not.
Anyway, you can go here to check out her (as usual) phenomenal performance, this time of “Stuttering” by Jazmine Sullivan.
Also, I found an interesting post from Forbes writer Caroline Ceniza-Levine. She makes a compelling argument about Jessica’s near cut this week from a business perspective that is pretty compelling. I disagree with her assertion that the mainstream audiences are the decision makers though. There is a lot of power on that panel, and if any one of those people want Sanchez to succeed, she will, whether she wins Idol or not.
