John Leguizamo Klowns Around In Miami Beach.

Last night, John Leguizamo gave the audience at the Fillmore in Miami Beach one hell of a show with his one man performance of Ghetto Klown! We’ve been talking about this for a couple weeks, so if you keep up with us or are at all familiar with Leguizamo, you know this is the 5th installment of his successful autobiographical live shows chronicling his personal and professional lives over the past few years. Being a fan of Leguizamo, I was excited to attend, though not 100% sure what to expect exactly.

Let me say, I knew the man was talented, but this show revealed a whole other, hilarious, irreverent, and insightful side I didn’t know about! We got to see behind the scenes of Leguizamo from hidden talents (Like the fact that he’s actually a really good dancer and was showing off his skills from salsa to Calle 13 to country line dancing) to the interesting and sometimes crazy stories of his career decisions (Apparently he  auditioned for the role of Tybalt in Romeo & Juliet just to prove his best friend wrong!).

I have to admit too, that I had a middle-school girl moment (there was giggling involved) when he reenacted his Romeo & Juliet audition with the actual scene from the film playing in the background. ¡Que cool!

After the show, Leguizamo and his team took the time to let me backstage to have the chance to meet him in person, which was a great opportunity (mil gracias to them!). After such an impressive performance, it was refreshing to find that he is really a very down to earth guy. Like when I asked if he was going to break out his dance moves on South beach, and he just laughed.

Ghetto Klown runs for two more nights, and I really think you need to check this out. It is well worth your time and money, and its a one of a kind show! You can get complete details below.
