En Privado con Tito El Bambino and La Mega 94.9!

One of Las Gringas’ favorite reggaetoneros was in the 305 this weekend! I was very excited to see Tito El Bambino again (I met him at the 2009 Latin Grammys.) during the Mega En Privado event hosted by my go-to Miami radio station La Mega 94.9FM. Alongside our amigos at HispanosEnMiami.com, we enjoyed an afternoon at the Clear Channel headquarters and the meet n’ greet really allowed us Tito fans an opportunity to connect with him En Privado….and I even got to ask him a question!

While I do enjoy all of Tito’s music, I have to say my favorite is the 2007 hit, “El Tra” which I can credit for my ability to roll my “R”s (Gringa Guide to Spanish coming soon on that toughie) and taught me the phrase “Se me hizo agua la boca.” Over the last couple of years however, Tito, who was once considered a hard-core reggaetonero, has expanded his horizons and has found a way to incorporate tropical beats and even pop vibes into his biggest hits that has kept him relevant in this ever-evolving Urbano Latino category.

While he admitted to being sleepy from the previous night’s rumba at La Covacha Nightclub, Tito was incredibly good-humored and had the entire room spellbound during the interview. Flowing between formal questions regarding his career, requests to a date on Valentine’s Day and even singing his Navidad song at the request of his youngest, most adorable fan, Tito never faltered and had the brightest smile during the entire event. He even let out a pretty big laugh when I introduced myself as 100% gringa before answering my question about any future plans for cross-over work: For now, he said no, but declared he would attempt incorporating English lyrics in the future just for me!

Tito answers my question (Thanks to HispanosEnMiami.com for recording!):

Thanks so much to La Mega 94.9 for hosting such a great event and we hope to have the opportunity to attend future Mega En Privados!
