Prince Royce Live At The Filmore, Miami Beach.
The only time I consciously tried to arrive late for an event to account for Latino time caused La Rubia and I to miss our chance to see Prince Royce live last year in Miami (gringas will never get it right, don’t know why we try). So, this time I was determined not to miss a minute of the prince of bachata who gave a private show at the Filmore in Miami Beach as part of the Univision Radio Concert Series. As it turns out, Royce is quite the charmer (and I have videos to prove it)!
Like many, I first fell en amor with Prince Royce’s voice with the release of the bilingual bachata remake of “Stand By Me“which quickly elevated him to fame. Since then, he has been cranking out hit after hit, including my favorite, “Ven Comigo” a duet with Daddy Yankee.
I was very excited to be invited by Univision Radio to attend this private concert but I had my doubts because you never know if the live show is going to live up to the hype of a new artist. I can honestly say, Prince Royce was just as sexy and smooth as he appears in his music videos. Like many of his songs, this was a bilingual show, and he flowed between English and Spanish very naturally. I have a feeling this guy has a good chance to crossover in the Anglo market, following the footsteps of Romeo Santos who is leading the way for bachata in the English market. Guess we will just have to wait and see!
I do have one bone to pick though- what’s the deal with the lack of bachata dancing by these bachateros? I’ve now seen both Romeo AND Prince Royce in concert and got nothing but a little wiggle out of them. ¡Dale..queremos más bachata! Who is with me?!
Check out my pics and videos below, especially the remix of “Corazon Sin Cara” where he casi casi gives my friend a kiss and hands me a rosa! Don’t miss out on any of our gringa adventures by liking us on Facebook, following us on Twitter, and subscribing to our YouTube channel!
