Ricky Martin In Evita: Broadway Soundtrack Release.

Anyone else desperate to travel to NYC to see Ricky Martin as “Che” in the recent revival of Evita on Broadway? Well even for those triste people like me who are stuck watching YouTube videos of his performances…we can soon purchase the soundtrack! The 2 disc-set, produced by Andrew Lloyd Weber y Nigel Wright will be on sale starting Tuesday, June 26th!

The soundtrack, being released on Masterworks Broadway, is only the second complete version…the first being recorded by the original musical cast in 1979 and of course includes our favorites like “Don‘t Cry for Me Argentina,” “Another Suitcase in Another Hall,” “High Flying Adored,” and “You Must Love Me.” This latest rendition of Evita premiered on Broadway this past April at the Marquis Theather, under the direction of Michael Grandage.

We can’t fail to mention the album includes amazing performances by Olivier Award winner Elena Roger as Eva Perón and Tony Award winner Michael Cerveris as Juan Perón- but from what I’m reading in the reviews…it’s really multi-Grammy award winner and all around amazing entertainer Ricky Martin who steals the show…and I’m sure that will be reflected in this soundtrack.

So, any other Evita/Ricky Martin fans excited for this news? I can’t wait to get this musica in my iPhone!
