Daddy Yankee’s “Ven Conmigo” Giggle Worthy Lyric Is In The Gringa Spotlight!
Please don’t take this the wrong way because I say it out of amor, but as a gringa, some of the lyrics to songs en español can be….well…ridiculous. Latinos must also remember that for gringas, we hear/see these lyrics in Spanish and then attempt to translate them roughly into English in our heads, which only adds to the ridiculous-ness. BUT we LOVE it!! So, that is why, Las Gringas will bring to you a collection of the most ridiculous lyrics from Latin music*.
*Disclaimer: majority being reggaeton, but that goes without saying…

Since we’ve been giving Daddy Yankee so much attention this week on our blog, I thought we’d keep it consistent by highlighting one the most ridiculous reggaeton lyrics ever:

I’m so hot, ilumino el spot, fresh and clean
Y seguimos en el top
What I like about this lyric:
- “creative” use of Spanglish
- features Tiger Woods reference (because that never gets old)
- use of the phrase “fresh and clean”
Also, I must take this moment for a mini-Spanish lesson!! While gatas literally means cats, it is used here to mean, give you one guess, women! No complaints here, as I prefer this use of the feline term versus the canine term for women.
