Salma Hayek Directs Jada Pinkett Smith in “Nada” Video to Raise Awareness for Human Trafficking.
I’m willing to wager that if a woman has even just a little bit of power…she’s going to use that power for good. And that is exactly what Salma Hayek and Jada Pinkett Smith have done with their latest collaborative project. Hayek is the director and Smith is the star of a new music video, “Nada Se Compara” intended to raise awareness regarding human trafficking.
Hayek has become a powerhouse in her own right…taking a successful career as an actress and all that she has learned and using that platform to help others. Smith too has achieved significant success in the Hollywood, and became outspoken on this topic through concerns of her daughter, Willow. The video features Jada singing the song “Nada” inter-cut with images of a young woman being lured into the sex trade. The imagery has a deep emotional impact, and brings attention to an aspect of our society that many (myself included) often ignore while going about our daily lives. Human trafficking is not a thing of the past. It is unfortunately a real and present danger to many.
The video is currently featured on the website dontsellbodies.org created by GEM‘s founder Rachel Lloyd a survivor of commercial sexual exploitation turned advocate. You can watch the video below, and find out more about the cause on the official website!
Saludos to both Salma and Jada for using their fame and fortune to help shed light and awareness on an issue that impacts so many innocent lives!
