Voto Latino Continues The Good Fight with New PSA y Mas Celebrity Support!
Actor turned activist Wilmer Valderrama got involved with the non-partisan civic engagement organization that is Voto Latino a couple years ago, and is currently continuing his efforts by directing an upcoming PSA for the group! With the goal of informing and mobilizing Latinos in the US to vote, they have worked tirelessly with movement supporters, fellow activists and volunteers to help make the Latino vote count! For the new PSA, Valderrama’brand corralled a group of celebs to join in the cause!
Voto Latino has generated a reputation for itself in the past few years for their ability to engage the youth through media, technology and celebrity voices all while promoting a message for positive change. For the particular PSA in question, Valderrama was joined by a slew of celebs including Demi Lovato, Maria Menounos, The Secret Life of the American Teenager’s Francia Raisa, The Real Housewives of Miami’s Lea Black, Scandal’s Columbus Short, Ugly Betty’s Tony Plana, Entourage’s Dania Ramirez, Chavez’s Michael Peña y mas. Considering the divisiveness and staunch partisanship that currently pervades our political culture in the U.S., it is really encouraging to see organizations like Voto Latino taking strides to educate, illuminate, and motivate individuals in the voting process. It is also important that its a non-partisan group…placing an emphasis on the role of the American citizen in lieu of focusing on political parties. On top of alllll that, it is equally important that this is an organization aimed at the Latino community, a demographic whose vote is being intensely courted by both sides by any means necessary (…and that nonsense can get confusing). Basically what I’m saying is…kudos, Voto Latino, keep up the good work!
